Specialist cleaning services for the classic and custom car and bike world.
We saw a need within the classic car restoration world for a company offering a service of getting components thoroughly clean. all too often people were trying to rebuild a car with old items that were not in great condition, or items were being used in need of further preparation.
Items would be sent off for blasting and be returned full of grit and dangerous to place back into an engine or proper inspection of critical components could not be carried out due to heavy soiling. We decided to offer a system of parts processing that would provide those building classic vehicles with the best chance of success, or in the very least remove one headache from the job by taking on the critical cleaning.

Rather than providing just a grit blasting service we wanted to explore some of the more innovative and clever processes that are available. Oil eating microbes, CO2 cleaning and electrolysis plus natural acids and ultrasound all work alongside more traditional methods to provide a service that is environmentally responsible, efficient and non damaging to the items whilst still able to be effective.

Having worked with cars for over 25 years in various capacities I have come to understand the need for cleanliness in many areas of vehicle engineering. I worked in motorsport, from club racing to Formula 1 and most levels in between, I have rebuilt classic cars, both high end marques like Jaguar and Porsche and more humble machine such as Triumphs and Minis. All of this has helped me realise that pretty much whatever job you are undertaking the first step is to make sure everything is properly clean. I wanted to provide a service for both professionals and amateures to assist in making sure every component of their cherished vehicle is in the best shape it can be. This is where Grime to Shine started and, although it has morphed to incorporate other areas, that basic principle is behind all we offer.
